Elizabeth Lince returns to practice

Chartlands is pleased to announce that Miss Elizabeth Lince returns from maternity leave on 23 April 2014, and will be available to conduct Family and Civil Law work from that date. Elizabeth’s return will help strengthen and develop the areas of practice teams, and will be welcomed by many solicitors who instructed her regularly before her leave. For further information or to book Miss Lince, please contact the clerks.

Public Access Update / Legal Aid update

Please note: Chartlands is now able to accept instruction from those who are or may be entitled to Public Funding (Legal Aid) but choose not to take this up.

Unfortunately, if, however, you are already in receipt of Legal Aid, we are not permitted to work for you on a Public/Direct Access basis.

A free initial discussion with counsel is now available for Public/Direct Access cases, allowing potential clients to outline what help they are looking for, and for the barrister to assess whether the case can be taken on. Costs estimates are usually given after the initial discussions with a barrister.

See the ‘Public Access Work’ page on this web site for more details. Enquiries can be made via the ‘Contact’ page, or by email or telephone.

Areas of law covered by Public Access at Chartlands:

  • All areas of Family Law (including contact, residence, parental responsibility, leaving jurisdiction, domestic violence, financial provision).
  • Immigration and Asylum including help with applications, representation at appeal hearings, Human Rights issues.
