Pupillage and Mini-Pupillage with Chartlands

We pride ourselves on offering a structured, rewarding and friendly environment for pupillage. In return we expect our pupils to be dedicated to working hard. All our pupillages are offered with a realistic prospect of tenancy upon successful completion of pupillage.

We advertise for pupillage through the Pupillage Gateway system. Our pupillages generally start in March/April and October of each year. Although, we consider all applications we usually expect a minimum of 2:1 grading at degree level and ‘very competent’ grading on the BPTC. We strictly adhere to fair recruitment rules and every application is assessed on merit alone.

All applications for pupillage, third six pupillage or tenancy should be made by covering letter and CV addressed to the Recruitment Committee. Successful candidates will be invited for an initial interview.

Mini pupillages are available at Chartlands and these will usually be for a period of two days. Applications for a mini pupillage should be made in writing with a CV and covering letter, in the first instance to Mrs Elaine Foster at elainef@chartlands-chambers.co.uk. We ask those who apply to
note that we are a “family set“ who also undertake some Civil Work and those who apply should show a leaning towards this work.
